1962 Kerstholt Pilot House Ketch 48

Chester, Nova Scotia, Canada

C$98,000

This yacht has had a full refurbishment in 2015/2016.

This Van De Most Rhoden designed Kerstholt 48 is a serious ocean cruiser with ample room for extended cruising and living aboard. The centre cockpit is large and protected from the elements, there is also an aft recessed seating area for enjoying the sun and sites.

Down below has a large aft cabin, main cabin with galley, crew/guest double cabin and two enclosed heads(one with a tub).

Sailing is ketch rigged all manageable from the cockpit( Newer sails, masts and rigging)

Powered by a 1990 GM 210HP inboard diesel with 3000 litre fuel capacity. Bow thruster.

All newer electronics and wind generator.

Owners comment: The Groninger was built in 1962 by Kerstholt Shipyards in Groningen, the Netherlands.  Kerstholt mainly built large freighters.  This boat was extremely well built and is heavy duty.  The rib spacing is 13 inches welded on both sides and the steel below the waterline was shown to be 10 mm. (built like an icebreaker) This is one of the most solid boats I have ever seen.  When we motored and sailed the Groninger from Shelburne, Nova Scotia to Grenada via the New England Coast, ICW, Bahamas and Caribbean Islands there were many comments made by other boaters of the sturdiness and durability and the ocean going style in which it was built.  The Groninger could be taken anywhere in the world and, in my opinion, is a type of vessel that could do the Northwest passage without worrying about ice.

THIS BOAT IS A GO ANYWHERE CRUISER PRICED TO GO!!!!
