The Gozzard 36 is very appealing to couples with cruising dreams. And for good reason. From the outside the Gozzard looks attractive with a graceful sheerline and high clipper bow. She carries her beam well aft and still manages to tuck at the stern to look like a well proportioned vessel.

The boat is solidly built with a true cutter rig with the mast stepped well aft in the boat. Bob Perry says, "This won't win you any races, but it is photogenic and can be fast on a reach".

Designed by the in-house design team of Ted Gozzard to give a certain group of crusiers something new and different, the Gozzard 36 does offer a couple particular comforts. As a liveaboard home, she has no parallel. The interior layout and the cockpit offer space and accommodations that are simply unimaginable on a 36 foot boat!

Bob Perry reviewd the Gozzard 36 E-Type and summed it up by saying, "Unusual design with attention to detail and cruising convenience". The most "unusual" design element is the very different interior layout. The salon is all the way forward. The result is an expansive interior that is quite dramatic. All the way forward there is a V-shaped settee port and starboard which can slide inward to form a centerline queen! How clever is that? There are panels that can be pulled into place to create a privacy screen. Beautiful living room, amazing guestroom. Your guests will never ever leave! The aft stateroom is also ingenious as it incorporates the nav station, but then closes up for compete privacy with standing room! The galley an actual kitchen. And then there is the dinnette for two. This design offers convenience and ease for a liveaboard couple in a size that is actually manageable for a couple. The boat incredibly appealing with its spacious layout and very, very nice joinery and attention to detail.

The gozzard is a unique boat built for open ocean or coastal sailing. The V-berth slides together to form a double bed, the back rests open for extra storage. The door for the closet flips around to close off the v-berth for privacy . The settee folds out to form a double bed and similarly there is extra storage beehind the backrests. Sliding partition walls also allow for an open concept or to separate areas for privacy. There is a cooktop and oven for meal preps and a portable table insert in the cockpit areas allows for topside dining. The stern of the boat has a section which opens up to provide stern access and a drop down swim ladder in addition to a stern hot and cold water supply. The cockpit is ultra secure with mahogany rails for family security or just that extra safety offshore. There is a new holding tank with macerator for off shore use. New cold and hot water tanks as well as a new fuel tank. The new yanmar engine was installed in 2019 and has been serviced twice yearly since to maintain the warranty. All standing rigging was replaced and reseated into new deck plates in 2019. The running rigging was replaced at the same time. All bright work was redone as well in 2019 and has been maintained. A new electric windlass makes dropping anchor a breeze. The very large Genoa, storm sail and mainsail are inspected and restitched as needed by north sails yearly. There is canvas to cover the two butterfly hatches that allow for extra ventilation on a warm summer day. The cockpit has canvas to fully cover overhead except the dodger canvas needs to be replaced. The head has an inclusive shower, although showering off the stern has been a great alternative. The main electrical panel was inspected in 2019 and the batteries were reconfigured to provide for full battery for engine starting (although not needed) and then switching to house batteries to secure the engine battery in full charge. The quarter berth can sleep one adult or two children. Under the bottom step of the companionway is a cabinet for ready access to safety equipment such as flares and the ship bell. There is a ring life preserver that is secured into the holder near the stern. Dingy davits are fixed onto the stern of the boat to hoist the dingy when underway. The owner is reluctantly selling due to health concerns.

"MADEIRA" is a well updated Gozzard 36 that can take you anywhere in safety.
