This restored 1958 Fenwick Williams Cat Boat will not disappoint.

Brief history and restoration/upgrades below as stated by the present owner.

She is a Fenwick Williams design from the days he worked for John Alden boat works in New York City in the 1920’s.  He was a very well know naval architect in his era and probably one of the more famous catboat designers to this day. She was built in 1958 for the Payzant family and built by the Weagle boat works in Halifax. She remained in the Payzant family for at least 25 years and was sold after the death of her original owner. She’s had 2 owners since before me. I bought her in 2006 and she had been on the hard for at least 8 or 9 years at that time.
She has basically been a ground up restoration since then and as she sits she’s about 99.5% finished and ready to launch. Actually, she’s totally launchable right now. All that remains is inside brightwork to be completed  to ones choice and buy a couple of new batteries.
In no set order of timing, we started by removing the old original transom, changed or sistered in at least 14 new ribs, replaced with a new transom in mahogany with allowances made for wheel steering by Edson. Added a new Vêtus 12hp Diesel engine and completely modified the cockpit for both the steering and engine controls mounted on a mahogany console. New barn door rudder added to compliment steering. The engine has less than one hour on it, yes, its still brand new. Then added completely new canvas cabin roofing and added new teak decking (non existant before).  The centerboard and winching system was replaced by a new steel centerboard and a proper raising and lowering crank  system installed over the centerboard housing. After trials, we decided to totally rebuild the entire centerboard housing with one done in fiberglass completely integrated into the keel. At the same time to further ensure  soundness, the entire hull and keel were glassed in a three layer process. She is now completely watertight.
She has her original mast but now has both a new gaff and new boom. Her mainsail is new and has never been used. She has new cabin seat cushions. All electrical wiring and switches and pumps are completely new and a second battery location has been added. New depth sounder and bulkhead mounted compass. All interior wood has been sanded to original finish and awaits painting and varnishing.

Also included is a 8ft wooden lapstrake tender. She sits on a tandem cradle trailer (quite moveable but not road certified). Many other improvements too numerous to mention.
