The hull is triple diagonal planked with 11/32 in. in width bedded in epoxy and silicon bronze fastened to the framing and each other. All planking is full length from sheer to keel (no butt joints). Outer planking is sheathed in Xynole-polyester (Defender Ind.) bedded in epoxy.

Ballast Keel: The ballast keel is lead with 2.75 tons bolted to the hull utilizing nine 1" diameter galvanized steel bolts, washers and nuts with laminated wood and steel floors. The bolts are encapsulated in epoxy in accordance with J.R. Watson (Tech. Consultant for Gougeon Bros.) recommendations. Also there are 0.50 ton of lead ingots of removable trim ballast in the bilge.

Rudder: The rudder is of epoxy laminated wood sheathed in Xynole-polyester bedded in epoxy. The rudder is bolted to a custom cast bronze rudder stock with 7-5/8" S/S threaded rods tapped into the rudder stock and extending the full width of the rudder. The rudder stock was fabricated by Lunenburg Foundry, NS). Wheel steering utilizing bronze rack and pinion mechanism (Edson, USA).

Deck: The deck consists of two layers of 3/8" marine grade Douglas Fir plywood with all joints staggered and epoxy and silicon bronze fastened to clamp, deck beams and cabin carlines.  The deck beams are laminated red spruce. The plywood deck is over-laid with Burma teak bedded in epoxy with epoxy-carbon seams as per Gougeon Bros. manual on wood boat construction.

Cabin: Cabin sides are constructed of marine grade Douglas Fir plywood 3/4" thick over-laid on the exterior by 5/16" African mahogany epoxy and bronze fastened in place. The cabin roof curved beams are laminated African mahogany. The cabin roof consists of two layers of 1/4" marine grade Douglas Fir plywood epoxied together with staggered joints and epoxy & bronze fastened to the cabin sides and roof beams. The cabin top, like the hull, is sheathed in Xynole-polyester embedded in epoxy. The cabin roof has two opening hatches constructed of teak and glazed with 1/2" plexiglass. There are four dorade ventilation vents of teak with Nicro 4" low profile cowls. The entrance sliding hatch with drop boards (2) are to CCA standards.
