Hard Eight has a hull material of Kevlar, Diviylcell, and E
glass. The deck construction is of E glass and foam core construction.
The rudder is built of Carbon Stock with a foam core and is long and
streamlined. Fin style keel with 5,000lbs of ballast. Yanmar sail
drive engine outdrive is smooth and efficient. All below fittings are
made of bronze with bronze ball valves. The winches , chain plates and
stays are built of heavy duty stainless steel throughout. The vessel
wiring, plumbing and tankage are to safety codes and to ABYC
standards. The aft cockpit is large and open, and self-bailing.
This vessel is set up to have a great number of sailors on deck, with
racing in mind, to run the 6 winches and ballast the vessel when
changing course. Enter the large cabin through the skylight main hatch
down 5 steps. Berths can be made on both sides. Forward is a bulkhead
with the manual head located just forward. Sink and cooler are located
aft of this bulkhead. Engine is located under the steps and has good
access on each side. Interior is open at this time and offers plenty
of sail storage throughout. Bomar hatch forward. Battery switches in
easy reach behind cabin steps. Interior has 6' 2" headroom.
New 3DI sails, Doyle jib, Asymmetric and symmetric spinnakers. Club
and regatta sets.
