Long and lean with great sail carrying ability, the C&C 131 promises exhilarating performance coupled with heart pounding good looks. Her stability and impressive performance numbers are made possible by C&C's advanced construction technology. A sail area to displacement ratio of 26.3 in this production racer/cruiser is compliments of C&C's Carbopoxy composite hull construction, resin infused composite deck, carbon fiber mast and boom, PBO standing rigging and carbon fiber rudder and post. Stability is optimized by a firm hull form and a low slung lead bulb on a high aspect ratio cast fin. To allow entrance into shallower harbors, a retracting fin of identical shape and weight as the fixed fin is also available. She is powered by a tall carbon fiber, double spreader rig and ultra light PBO rigging. We believe good aesthetics are an important element to any yacht design. The 131 will use her C&C design heritage to make a bold entrance into any harbor. In addition to performance optimization, the 131 has incorporated many C&C features designed to make easy to sail and easy to handle a performance boat reality. Her fractional upwind sail plan with 108% jibs is just the beginning. The superior physical properties of carbon fiber, allow a simplified two spreader rig that provides great upwind performance without running backstays or other complicated rigging. High tech standing and running rigging are lighter and stronger, coupled with all Harken deck hardware, sail controls are made with little effort. C&C's new Racing-V boom combines a light weight ?Park Avenue? performance boom with user friendly ?tame the main? sail handling features. Off wind sailing performance is provided by asymmetrical, masthead spinnakers set on a retracting carbon fiber sprit; fit her with an asymmetrical cruising spinnaker for exciting and easy to handle downwind ?cruising?. From masthead to keel, the 131 is uniquely designed for the performance minded racer/cruiser. It's easy to make a race boat fast, the challenge is in making it comfortable and livable when cruising. Through attention to weight saving construction methods and materials, the C&C 131 is fit with a fully finished interior. Featuring a 3 cabin layout with a large main cabin living area, head with stall shower, full nav station and a well equipped galley, the 131 will pamper her crew in comfort and convenience. Her interior is expertly executed in a stylish combination of solid cherry varnished doors, custom laminated curved trims, weight saving composite cabinets and counter tops and hand sewn ultra leather or ultra suede upholstery. The J120 makes passage-making downwind under spinnaker - with only 2 people on a 40 footer - is so easy, you'll have fun doing it every time you go sailing. She features exceptional performance and construction earned J/120 the distinction of being CRUISING WORLD magazine's OVERALL BOAT OF THE YEAR and the BEST VALUE in a full-sized cruising boat. Downwind, it's a whole new world with an asymmetric spinnaker she'll do 7.2 knots at 150 degrees true wind angle in 10 knots of wind with a VMG of 6.3. Flying one of an asymmetrical is a one person job. Snuffer controls lead back to the cockpit. No one goes on deck when deploying, jibing, or dousing the spinnaker. To jibe, simply let off one sheet and pull in the other. It's safer. One comer of the spinnaker (the "tack") is always secure to t e bowsprit, eliminating wild oscillations. The center-of-effort is located further forward and lower. Meaning balanced, "finger-tip" control rather than "white knuckled" round-up broaches. The 115 maintains performance ratios yet an interior that features two separate cabins, luxurious main cabin, sit-down nav station, large galley, and head with stall shower. The C&C 115's long waterline (33 feet) produces a very impressive 147 displacement/length ratio. The bulbed 4,200-lb lead keel has an extremely low center of gravity producing a high righting moment allowing a powerful sailplan resulting in a sail area/displacement ratio of 23.1. The mast on the 115 utilizes pre-preg, carbon-fiber laminates, cured under pressure (100 psi) at 250 degrees F, the 115's mast is less than half the weight of a comparable aluminum mast yet is stiffer and stronger. The weight saved aloft adds to the 115's stability advantage and reduces pitching moment maximizing her performance. A carbon-fiber mast, once an expensive option or custom raceboat feature, is standard equipment on the C&C 115, further testament to C&C's dedication to advanced yacht construction. For daysailing or cruising, there are plenty of options for sailing with an symmetrical or asymmetrical spinnaker. C&C's distinctive deck design is continued on the 115. Wide side decks with molded-in non-skid provide safe and secure maneuvering in a seaway. The helmsman is pampered with a wrap-around helmseat with the 60" wheelwithin fingertip reach for upwind sailing. With the racer/cruiser in mind the deck for the 115 is designed for maximum performance while offering comfort for after the race or when cruising. The 115 interior includes cabinetry that is abundant and attractively finished in varnished cherry with laminated, curved trim. Bulkheads are attached to the interior components using Plexus methylmethacrylate adhesives providing additional stiffness to the hull structure without adding weight. Accommodations for six are provided in fore and aft double cabins and bunk-length main cabin settees. The forward facing nav station is designed to accommodate full navigational instrumentation. The galley is fit with a two burner gimbaled LPG stove/oven, large icebox, deep sink, and ample storage for provisions. A stall shower and large head are located aft and to port. By concentrating on weightsaving construction technologies the 115 delivers an interior befitting a comfy cruiser without giving up her dedication to top racecourse performance. 38' David Stevens Lutwick Schooner

"Mora" was built in 1972 by David Stevens on Second Pennisula, Lunenburg County, NS and named for one of his granddaughters. She was originally built to sail against 37' Chester "C" class boats as a marconi sloop. In 2006, the current owner had her rebuilt and rerigged as a gaff rigged schooner including rigging her for a main topsail and a fisherman staysail. Her rerigging cost over C$50,000 and was completed by Billy Lutwick with design review by Murray Stevens(David's son). "Mora" needs some fresh varnish and paint but appears to have been well maintained and updated. A recent survey is on file. For schooner sailors, she represents value, beauty and speed for a fraction of her replacement cost. | |||||

Most sailors dream of just such a boat...a boat like the Northern Bay 38. We have been tasked with selling a dream project for a family who's interests have evolved in a direction that unfortunately precludes enjoying this boat. Down East Boatworks built the Northern Bay hull in Maine in mid 2008 and she was shipped to Nova Scotia for finishing. Over the past 20 months the systems have been installed and the finish work would make any Maine builder proud. She is built and equipped to rival the Wilburs, the Campbells, the Bar Harbors and similar Lobsteryachts. She is designed to be a one couple, fast cruising Lobsteryacht; cruise all day at 8knots or go home fast with WOT speeds approaching 30knots. Her interior layout includes an island queen forward, a large head w/separate shower stall and a wraparound galley for use underway. On the helm deck, her layout is set up to allow her guests to view the scenery underway with raised dinettee and double mates seat. The interior finish includes mahogany doors and trim; white V panelling, teak & holly soles and blue/tan fabrics. Her equipment list is extensive and includes: The boat is approximately two months from launch and there is still time to customize the helm deck area and cockpit. For example, a fighting chair would fit well on the back deck. Teak cockpit sole or non skid? You can choose. As she stands today, her build hours exceed 5,000 man hours. With an appropriate electronics, comparable builds finished to this level of craftsmanship would price out at over $700,000.
