Shadow in Indigo (ex-"Silver Shadow IV") was built in 1984, and launched and campaigned in 1985 by a 'C&C-factory team' under Jim Plaxton (who acquired control of C&C in the early '80s).
It was reported that the construction and campaign costs for the year approximated C$900,000.
Her hull is constructed of Carbon Fibre and Kevlar and the deck and hull are bonded into a one piece, round edge unit with no hull deck joint.
She has had an extensive three year interior redesign and refurbishing that has converted her into a fast comfortable cruising yacht but she still is a state of the art racing machine. She is one of the best equipped yachts of her type. She is almost forty-five feet in overall length and just under fourteen feet wide. Her spar is over sixty feet high and is supported by a four spreader rig with double running backstays. She draws almost nine feet of water. She is a full ocean going racing yacht.
Her features include:
Carbon fiber reinforced Kevlar hull
Kevlar deck
Recent sails
55hp inboard diesel (rebuilt 2000)
Painted deck, hull, interior, mast(1998).
Bottom faired and new carbon rudder.
Clean throughout and ready to race.
Originally built for the company's chairman as an Admiral's Cup & SORC boat - designed & equipped to the highest standards of the time.
