Owners comment: The Groninger was built in 1962 by Kerstholt Shipyards in Groningen, the Netherlands.  Kerstholt mainly built large freighters.  This boat was extremely well built and is heavy duty.  The rib spacing is 13 inches welded on both sides and the steel below the waterline was shown to be 10 mm. (built like an icebreaker) This is one of the most solid boats I have ever seen.  When we motored and sailed the Groninger from Shelburne, Nova Scotia to Grenada via the New England Coast, ICW, Bahamas and Caribbean Islands there were many comments made by other boaters of the sturdiness and durability and the ocean going style in which it was built.  The Groninger could be taken anywhere in the world and, in my opinion, is a type of vessel that could do the Northwest passage without worrying about ice.

THIS BOAT IS A GO ANYWHERE CRUISER PRICED TO GO!!!!
